October 2015 Happenings

We added some fun to our door to celebrate Halloween.

We kept up on our new Halloween tradition. We picked out pumpkins at the pumpkin patch. Then we came home to roast hot dogs in our fire pit followed with making banana boats. This is such a fun tradition.

October 14th brought our anniversary trip. We headed to California that day. We stopped in St. George for lunch and got into Anaheim at around 6:30. We were able to find a sushi restaurant which Joe thoroughly enjoyed. The 15th brought our first year anniversary. What a great thing to celebrate! We took our time getting up and getting ready. We had a nice time at Disneyland and California Adventure. We made it on a few rides. I had come to the conclusion to just enjoy the trip and the time together instead of worrying about getting so much packed in. The following day we shared another great day where we just enjoyed the moment. On the 17th we took our time getting up and going before we made the trek back home. A week after our anniversary we read letters we'd taken time to write. Over the course of our first year of marriage, we typically wrote a letter to each other once a month. It was a great way to be reminded of the love we share as we read them to each other again.

Mom had surgery on the 23rd, and it went really well. We still had to wait for definitive results to follow.

Of course we carved pumpkins to celebrate Halloween.

Joe and I both had a day off on the 30th. So it was a great addition for a day to just the two of us. So we went to Ogden to eat at the Prairie Schooner which was a fun little restaurant. Then we came across a fun museum. It was nice to have a little getaway.

We were very lucky that Joe's word schedule changed just in time for us to have Halloween day together. We had a fun day filled with pumpkins and candy!
