The next day, October 2nd brought the day we got to bring our new guy home. It seemed unbelievable, but it was definitely a dream come true. That night became a bit of an adventure as we lost power for a couple of hours on Sam's first night home.
The next few days brought a number of visitors as well as prepared dinners which allowed us to really enjoy cuddling and caring for Samuel. Samuel also gave us a few laughs. One night in the middle of the night Joe was changing him, and Samuel peed all over me. Only he could do this and make me laugh at 4 in the morning. Then we went to his two day check up. We got him all dressed after being checked, and Joe was putting him back in his car seat. Then Samuel let out a large toot to load his diaper. He made me laugh once again.
On the 4th we went and had newborn pictures done for Samuel. That was a really fun experience with some great results.
October 7th brought a great experience. I was sitting in the living room holding Samuel. I said a prayer of gratitude that brought me to tears. I am so grateful to be his mom and have this experience to bring a child into this world. I am so blessed.
The 14th brought Samuel's two week check up. He weighed in at 9 pounds 5 ounces with a length of 22 1/4 inches.
We celebrated our two year anniversary on the 15th. I am so grateful for Joe and all the fun he brings to my life.
We followed tradition with a visit to a pumpkin patch, hot dogs (barbecued instead of roasted this year), and banana boats. It's a fun tradition.
Samuel was blessed on the 23rd. Joe gave a really nice blessing. It was nice to celebrate Samuel's birth. He is a huge blessing in our lives for sure. We had a nice get together after with some refreshments to continue the celebration.
Carving pumpkins for Halloween became quite the experience as it provided for some really good laughs.

Samuel turned one month old and is growing like crazy!
Well Samuel's first holiday celebration was Halloween. Due to his size, his costume fell through. Luckily, we had a back-up through a gift from his Aunt Jody. Thanks for saving the day!
This month was wonderful as we were able to make it work for both Joe and I to be home together for the entire month. It was so nice to have so much time together. We had a very nice time enjoying our new addition together with a few less distractions. It was so hard to go back to reality where we had to go back to routines and jobs in order to support our growing family.
Here is a mix of pictures from over the course of the month.
